For Exam 2, students will download this form to complete and submit under the Exam 2 folder in Module 5 this week. There are two steps to complete the Outline below (See each highlighted number for more information. The Outline is due by Sunday, June 19th by 11:59 pm.
1. Develop an Introductory paragraph (7-10 sentences) for the final essay that clearly explores the subject of your argument. Omit information about the author and plot summary and instead work to explain how the subject, concept, or idea manifest.
a. Make sure the last sentence or two of the Introduction includes a thesis statement that states what you plan to argue, how, and why. Introduction Paragraph:
2. Then, work to tease out the topic sentences for your Final Essay.
The section below requires a clear topic sentence for each body paragraph. The topic sentence is the first sentence of the body paragraph that states the main idea and its significance. Stop to think about your overall argument. Then, work to determine how you will prove your ideas with the body paragraphs. Ultimately, all the topic sentences will provide an outline of your argument that you can begin writing later this week.
