Discussion Question:
(1) Summarize EITHER Levine’s argument or Veatch’s argument that informed consent as currently conceived in Western countries has limited applications elsewhere or should be replaced by some other standard. (Remember, an argument is the set of reasons that the author gives in support of their position.)
(2) Both authors suggest alternatives to the standard practice of informed consent. Explain whether you think that the alternative(s) that Levine or Veatch proposes is really incompatible with the practice of informed consent as defined by Beauchamp and Childress.
(3) Give your evaluation of the strength of the author’s argument that you have summarized in (1).
